Live from July camp: the Last Day
Aug 9 2010 - 3:27pm
Today is the last day of ThreeSixty Journalism’s July camp and everyone is wearing their yellow T-shirt that Annie gave to us.
Later in the day we went on a field trip at the Pioneer Press, but before we went there, we took group pictures, which was fun because throughout the camp we all didn’t have times to take pictures. Everybody was excited to take pictures together.
Soon, the field trip began and we arrived at the Pioneer Press. Touring where reporters work and looking at their desks was very interesting. They have stacks of old newspapers and they are doing their own things. I also learned one of the report had to wake up early at 6 a.m. and leave at work at 9 p.m. to go home. What a long day!!?
Our next field trip was to the printing press where they print the newspaper. It was amazing how much they use big rolls of papers and ink. I believe I heard they print about 236,000 newspapers a day. The area was loud because the machine were running. The coolest part was seeing the newspaper being printed and flying off to the next room. During the whole two field trip, Sheila and David were every where taking bunches of pictures.
The funnest part of the day I would have say is at The Grill. Everybody, including myself, were grabbing everything we wanted since we all still had money in our lunch cards and wanted to use it all.
Me, Dan, and Arielle got so caught up in buying our drinks and junk foods that when we got back to the table, everybody was gone. We didn’t get the chance to say good bye, so we all dipped too.
Last, thanks Annie for letting all of us to get the chance to write our own articles. Thanks Miles for helping us, when we needed it. Also Aisha for giving us feedback, too. All three of you made a big accomplishment, because without you three checking on us and keeping us track, we wouldn’t have finished our articles. Thank you, you guys are the BEST!!!!! :)
One more thing, have a safe summer and think about journalism!!!!!!!!!!
