Twin Cities Black Journalists Scholarship
Given to journalism student from Minnesota attending any four-year institution. Scholarship is one-time, non-renewable award aimed at African-American students. This scholarship is for college sophomores, juniors and seniors majoring in Journalism, English, or PR.

Journalist of the Year Scholarship
Award given to high school senior who has been on the newspaper staff for at least two years. Must have at least a 3.0 GPA and plan to major in journalism.
Scholarship Amount:
$5,000 for top winner, $2,000 for four runners-up

National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) Scholarships
Annually, NABJ awards more than $60,000 in scholarships to deserving students interested in pursuing careers in journalism. Scholarships are worth up to $25,000. Scholarships are open to any foreign or American born student, currently attending or entering an accredited four-year college/university in the U.S. or those who are candidates for graduate school.

National Association of Hispanic Journalists Scholarships
These scholarships are designed to encourage and assist Latino students pursue careers in journalism. You must plan to attend a college or a university as a full-time student for the entire academic year in order to be eligible for an NAHJ scholarship. Only students who attend or plan to attend schools within the United States or Puerto Rico are eligible for NAHJ’s scholarships.

Page Scholarships
Scholarship for student of color with financial need. Must be a graduate of a Minnesota high school attending a Minnesota post-secondary school. Must have a positive attitude toward education and community service and be willing to fulfill a minimum of 50 hour of service to younger children each year scholarship received.

Kay Longcope Scholarship Award
Applicants must be an LGBT individual of color planning to pursue a career in journalism and be able to demonstrate their passion and commitment to the profession. Selection will be based on journalistic and scholastic ability. Applicants also must demonstrate an awareness of the issues facing the LGBT community and the importance of fair and accurate news coverage.

National Hispanic Scholar Recognition Program
Scholarship awarded to academically outstanding Hispanic students.

City of Minneapolis Scholarships
The University of St. Thomas annually awards eight full-tuition scholarships to residents of the city of Minneapolis who currently are enrolled as graduating seniors in a Minneapolis public or private high school. Seven scholarships are awarded to seven graduates from the eight public high schools in Minneapolis and one to a graduate from one of the four private high schools.

ThreeSixty Scholarship
Scholarship given to a high school senior and ThreeSixty or UJW alumni who plans on attending St. Thomas with a major in journalism.
Scholarship Amount:
Full tuition for four years totaling roughly $100,000
Deadline:
Feb. 15
Requirements:
Must be a high school senior and have completed one of the ThreeSixty summer workshops. Also, the student must have a strong academic record, intend to major in journalism and have financial need.
To Apply:
Complete an application for admission to St. Thomas, an Urban Journalism Workshop application and file a current year FAFSA form. There is a 500-750 word essay requirement.
