I got involved wiwth ThreeSixty during the Spring of 2010. We would meet during the weekends or whenever we could. We learned the basic things a journalist needed to know and we worked together in our small group to write stories. I mainly got involved with ThreeSixty because of my sister Sinthia Turcios. She told me how fun it was to be a part of this program and I decided to try it out.

One of the things i like the most about journalism is that there’s not only writing to it. You can be a photojournalist or make documentaries. There are so many ways you can be a journalist that doesn’t have to be just about writing what happens somewehre and there you’re done. You become part of the story because what you write should interest not only you but also the people who will read it. You have to be interested in it to help your readers understand more about the subject. I love photography and writing, and thanks to ThreeSixty I have an opportunity to use my abilities, and what I know, or like to do. I also met Jerry Holt, a photographer at the Star Tribune, who has helped me understand different things about photography that maybe I wouldnt’ve learned if i wasn’t a part of ThreeSixty.
