Erika’s story
Hello!
I’m Erika and I like journalism.
I like it for several reasons, but the main one is the content.
The content does not belong to writer.
It doesn’t belong to the writer so much as it does the speaker,
and when I say the speaker, I mean anyone and everyone.
From the presidential candidates to the stock boy at the local grocery store,
it is the writer’s job to repeat them and spread their words as far as possible.
It is the writer’s job to make them understood as clearly as possible.
That said, my favorite part of the process of writing an article is the interviewing.
Before I really learned to listen,
I imagined that people probably didn’t have many interesting things to say,
especially when they’re making it up on the spot.
Now that I’ve learned to listen,
it seems the more spontaneous, the more beautiful.
Thank you ThreeSixty for helping me learn to take anyone and everyone’s beautiful words
and turn them into something that anyone and everyone would want to read.
